Coach Driver

We are currently seeking candidates for certification or training as motor coach (bus) drivers to support the ministries and mission efforts of Northwest Church.

Duties

Operate and participate in the maintenance of the Northwest Coach.  The coach is an MCI-12, 47 passenger commercial bus with a Detroit 6V92 and Allison Transmission.

Operation will include:

  • Internal Ministry Support (camps, events, etc.)
  • Mission Trips Support
  • Cooperative Assistance trips for other churches

Requirements

Candidates for certification must  have: 

  • Clean driving record
  • Clear medical screening
  • CDL with passenger and air-brake endorsements, and
  • 6 months or 500 hours of driving time

Candidates for training must have: 

  • Clean driving record
  • Clear medical screening, and
  • CDL learners (passenger/air-brake endorsed) permit prior to the beginning of training - preferably at time of application 

Medical screening includes drug testing. As with many positions, due to the nature of the job and insurance regulations, Phase II training requires a background check.

Phase I Training Begins

Phase I Training will include:

  • Basic Bus Driving Skills
  • Basic Bus Maintenance
  • 5 hours of individual drive time instruction.
  • Evaluation & testing to determine eligibility for Phase II Training or Certification of Experienced Drivers.

Duties

Management reporting and controls
Policy enforcement and development
Directing skilled volunteer clerks and processors
Monthly balancing
Year End balancing and reporting
Audit support and preparation
Tax filings and monitoring
Reconciliations and or directing reconciliations

Requirements

Certified Public Accountant preferred but not required
Minimum 3 years experience 
Closing, audit and reporting experience and expertise

Time Commitment

30-40 hours a month
Flexible work hours except for management meetings
Willing to be an active part of the ministry at Northwest
